Nothing of note happedened, a bunch of impids showed up to a mortar duel with bows & spears, kind of an overkill...
... but the Ediots crawled out of their mudhuts and are doing their best to keep up with the rest of the universe, and have no time to sit on their asses for a millenia while the primitives catch up
two more = two Ediots preserved

During the near fatal raid and its aftermath, both colony roosters were killed, and since no caravan showed up with a replacement, the hens were sold. This will hamper the implant production.

A polux tree was bought to slowly remove the polution packs one by one. But the wastepacks left out in the open atracted attention. The Ediots are monitoring the situation. Hopefully it doesn't get activated by rhe passing caravans.

Heidy's kid wondered to close to the insect pods, ended up dead. While I wanted to preserve the serums for the protag Ediots, I hate when colony kids die, so... minus 1 serum.
The insects went on a rampage, killing any animal they encountered, and then proceded towards the colony. Ediots were ready to meet them with a mounted MG.
But then the good people of Veristan sent aid again
What they lacked in armor and firepower they made up in courage and suicidal enthusiasm
shockingly it wasnt enough
Lurk was sent out to help
The surviving Veristami were given medical care and then departed. 77yo pothead, I get the feeling they send people not so much to help, but more in the hope of getting rid of them.
And the Ediots were left with a pantry full of bug meat
which everyone hates, but can be turned into lavish meals
Day after, a mech cluster landed, with a first centipede, the mechanoid equivalent of an autonomous tank
though the conspiracy theorists claim otherwise
And now a short summary of current colony development. In 10 years, the ediots went from a wooden shack
to a fortress made of marble and sandstone, with accumulated wealth of over 290K
In those 10 years most of the surface material was stripped, forcing the colony to supplement it by buying from the caravans. So, the current goal of the Ediots is to achieve the autarky. The first step was making this tool, ground penetrating scanner, a geological survey tool that will help the Ediots find underground deposits of materials such as plasteel and uranium.
The autarky still won't be complete, exotic tech (psychic lances) and materials (hyperweave fabric) will still require outside sources, but the Ediots will at least be able to produce their own weapons and power armor.
Year 11 stared
A waster mortar raid arived.
Tim was given a pair of binoculars and sent as a FO
Incendiary shells were used
I love the smell of burning wasters in the moring
after that, a quest offer arrived and was turned down, because the reward was gay
The Ediots finally started the preparations to open the ancient danger, though there was a concern that if there are mechanoids inside, attacking them would wake up the cluster behind it
the preparations were shortly interrupted by the arrival of a manhunter pack that ended up in the freezer
With 240Bs in front of the entrance, shotgunners with EMP shells to the sides, and rest of the Ediots behind the sandbags, Lurk started tearing down the wall
It was just bugs, so everyone stood down and let Lurk handle it
Since the mechanoids didn't wake up, the opening of the cryptosleep sarcophagi was left for the morning, when the sandbags were placed
Six soldiers of the ancient empire, two dead, two harmless, and two hostile. One was beanbagged, the other generously donated her leg to Lurk's growing collection.
But it was now that the mechanoids woke up, and the Ediots quickly evacuated the crypt with their prisoners (one died, two released, one recruited)
Hopefully some of the mechs wander over to the gift the Ediots left them
A week passed, and an Impid raid showed up from 2 directions, one of them next to the cluster
Surprisingly they did well before they were obliterated, killing some mechanoids, causing the centipede to cut the others with friendly fire, and one to wander into the Ediots IED
Only the centipede remained, and it moved in to attack Nobody Cares
on its way it encountered and wiped out the other group of Impids that attacked the colony at the same time, and then proceeded towards the Ediots who took it down with no casualties, but a lot of trouble. 240B with HE ammo ain't gonna cut it anymore, once again the Ediots have to catch up with the arms race.
After that, CMT had a baby boy, still unnamed
Another Defoliator crashed, and will be cleared by mortars soon
