Apologies for the delay, but this is the late game boredom, few things happen that can endanger the Ediots. The colony is alert and always ready to respond, everyone has some kind of armor, and is genetically or cybernetically enhanced. Few interesting threats appear, and the drama is low (it would also be better if it was played by someone new and fresh to the game, who has yet to figure out how things work, or if I've set the difficulty higher - current is "strive to survive").

Anyway, the Ediots made their way to the secret facility for nothing - turns out they also need to create a hybrid animal that will be improved in the lab, and that the start of the process will trigger a signal that will trigger a visit from mechanoids. They'we returned to Nobody Cares empty-handed.

There was a huge polar bear manhunter pack, and one of the Ediots was too slow to get behind the walls, but nothing happened, the armors weren't even dented

since there was no room in the pantry to store all that meat, killing was deemed unnecessary, and 4 Ediots with beanbags pacified the entire herd

Ancient lab raids continued. These places are huge, and I'm starting to wonder if they can be settled.

Near the end of the year, a cluster with no gimmicks landed next to the colony. No weather controlers, no countdown timer, no mortars. The Ediots decided to just leave it be.

With enough equipment scavanged/built, minty could start producing colony's first hybrids

On the same day a wedding was held. Heidi divorced Demonic, who was devasteted, but eventually found new happines in Tim's arms. Congratulations....fags

There was a days long period of rain, and during a storm, a lightning must have hit and set one of the mechanoid structures on fire, and they woke up, and were taken care of by usual means

Another defoliator with a 278 footies, swordsmen placed on the entrance, mortars inticed them to rush, it was supposed to be a simple slaughterhouse

but then the allies arrived to help, and turned it into a complicated slaughterhouse instead. Still, this is the 4th time that hte Veristani rushed to aid the Ediots without even being asked to. Tim and Chuj blasted their way through shotgunners to collect the surviving wounded.

A yttakin drop pod raid made a bloody mess in the barracks on the new year's eve

Two weeks later the impids showed up.

Tired of constantly dragging off the dead bodies, the Ediots used beanbag shells, allowing most of the impids to survive and limp away (on both legs)

Soon after, another cluster that was woken up during a thunderstorm. With the infantry taken out, most of the turrets were sniped away.

But i was impatient, and thought that maybe I can stuff Lurk in a drop pod and land him here, where they can't fire due to their minimum range. Do I risk him? Fuck it, I got 5 shots of serum left.

Now. let's see how this victory goal should be wrapped up. I already showed minty filling up the machine with genoframe (that thing that was used for implants and costs 64 chickens), and here's the interface. It can either use genetic materials from two different species to crete a hybrid:

or it can use two of the same species to create a genetic paragon, the purest genetic expression of the species (with a chance of failure and producing some flesh monstrosity)

First hybrid the Ediots created was the wolfsnake. After that, minty combined two avian genomes to create the avian paragon

Now, this is the equipment that the Ediots looted from the ancient labs, in the middle is the archocentipede (or "superbeast" if you will) former,

and the boxes surrounding it need to be filled with 12 different genetic material types

The colony has already produced 7 out of 12 paragons that the material will be harvested from. After that, the archoformer will combine them into a growth cell to be gestated in the artificial womb. The process will last 15 days, and will trigger raids. If the Ediots manage to survive and resist that period, victory is theirs.

it's finally over.

But ok, let's go in order, skipping irrelevant stuff only

Year 22 started

The Ediots accepted a quest to store even more toxic wastepacks, which lead to even more bug infestations, no longer limited to the crypt

since this threatened to overwhelm even the melee troops, flamethrower was used, uncomfortably close to artilery shell stockpile

In the summer, an insectoid paragon was created in the colony, and the Ediots traveled with it to the mechahybridization lab

where it was transformed into a giant cyberbug armed with twin lazers

after that, the process was repeted with the ÜBËRCHÏCKËN, which now became DÄS ÜBËRMËCHÄCHÏCKËN

Since the hybridization machine had one more charge left, the Ediots made themselves at home in the lab, and waited for the colony to create and send an ursine paragon. While this was ongoing, they had to endure 6 mechanoid raids

At the end of the year, a yttakin mortar raid of about 100 people landed. Of all the places, smack dab in the middle of a mechanoid cluster. A single mortar shell was fired by the Ediots, enough to awaken the machines

In the end, the yttakin won, but had barely 30 people left to attack the colony with, and were easily dispatched

The final quest was done, bringing the number of resurrector serums to 8. It was time.

First raid was a waster drop pod assault, but all the pods ended scattered all over the map, their inhabitants easily picked off

The policy of hacking off legs and taking prisoners was abandoned for the time being, and replaced with decapitate on sight, which was sometimes regretable, but who the fuck goes on raids pregnant?!

after losing enough people, they decided to steal whatever was on the ground, which were weapons left from the yttakin mortar raid , and mechanoid ammo. They were allowed to do it, the colony is now over million in value, they made of with less than pocket change

Raid 6 was unlucky enough to enter the map near minty's meditation spot. I was worried for a moment, but a psycaster with a flamethrower can handle a lot, as it turns out. Berserk pulse drove a group of 6-7 to slaughter each other

So it was handled from 2 sides, Demonic and Lurk at the gates, and minty attacking from the back to speed up the process, because another raid could show up at any moment

It was ended quickly and efficiently, but by now the archocentipede process was halfway finished, and I realized that I should have encased the damn thing in walls to protect it from this kind of geopardy

Raid 11, the mechanoids almost caught Ediots unprepared while they were meditating, but they managed to quickly retreat

Raid 12 was handled mostly by the mechabear, though it did destroy some of the plan B pods in the process

This thing is nigh unkillable, armed to the mandibles, and can direct the fire of Jewish space lasers every 7 hours.

Whatever exists on Pentimus 7 without the Ediots knowledge, exists without their consent. In order the Pentimus 7 to be trully theirs, no one must be permitted to incur upon it, save by their dispensation. They looked upon the dead bodies of the raiders and mechanoids. They started to laugh, loudly. War was always here on the Rimworld, even before the Ediots were here, war waited for them, the ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioners...

Well actually I'll probably take a week to rest, I love this game, but the final stages are more of a long term project than fun. Early struggle is always the best part of it, and sometimes defeat can be more entertaining than success.

What do you guys want, continue with this colony to the archotech ending, or a new colony, on higher difficulty, with 1.5 version, which I didn't play, but I know it adds horror elements

- tropical rainforest
- tropical swamp
- temperate swamp
- arid shrubland

Game has been updated to 1.5 and has a new victory condition. Mods have been updated, and a mod with new ideology structures/memes had been added

Eh, deaf and mute is difficult, that guy that i mentioned got it from a brain injury. But maybe I manage to roll a senior citizen colonist with deafness, who knows? Rainforest has a high desease frequency, hope I manage to research meds before everyone dies of malaria. Cowboy/sharpshooter sounds like a combo.
