Harley Davidson has been dead for nearly 20 years, HD doesn't realize it yet.
The article doesn't mention that the only way the stock is not crashing due to poor sales, and loss of assets, is the company is busy taking out loans for the sole purpose of buying up lose shares of stock and artificially keeping the stock price high.
The reason why they would do this is to court buyers into buying HD and using the growing stock price as a metric in valuating the brand. No one is falling for it, and HD is officially dead in, I'm guessing 5-7 years. I don't think they'll get a bail out, because by then I'm sure no one will care about HD since HD has literally built it's brand on the 1%'ers since the sixties. Which they could have turned around in the 80's, but all the boomers wanted to larp as Son's of Anarchy walk ons. Which is weird because those types of clubs really don't tolerate posers or wannabes, and if you say you're part of club and stupid enough to wear their colors or something that says you are affiliated with them directly or indirectly, they'll either stomp the shit out of you, or if the chapter president has any brains at all, set you up to get your ass kicked by a rival gang to bring the heat down on them, which most likely won't happen since most biker gangs either are working for the feds or have a vested interest in working with the fed to some small degree.
