I actually know a guy who re-sells proper dedicated servers from Hetzner, Leaseweb and OVH if you do need storage/traffic. he is mostly EU based but the servers and the traffic is some of the best in the world (10gbps speeds, metered but with 1 TB traffic etc.). For the more reasonable traffic prices (1gbps unmetered) he does have us options available I think.
If you do have any problems, I actually suggest you take a look at this.
It sounds like you're using VPS that don't have that much of storage and doesn't have the best of peering traffic either

Not sure about the other two, but Hetzner is cucked. Our provider has been good, although we run into occasional technical issues it hasnt been bad.

So I do wonder what is up with that "verify people's identity", Germany is privacy friendly country after all.
The entire idea of me owning ED was to try to push back such laws.
The reason why they kick you off is due to NetzDG, while I would go legal way to stand for ED, it would however create a certain risk.
Sometimes the only way to avoid a ban hammer would be partial censorship, which can be done in lulzy way but can harm some articles (unless it was actually illegal content in entirety of the world as such content must be removed anyway). And that just sucks.
Also you would need to completely remove logging of IP from XenForo and MediaWiki (as well as the server), because they could rely on NetzDG and ask you for IP of user who created such post, there is no law that would enforce you collect the data more than necessarily.

Hiding and using offshore only contributes to a problem, eventually it might as well as kill internet as we know it.
Not that I am saying you shouldn't, but I would def use ED as promote AfD and politics.

This includes not only altering or removal of information but also hiding it from public (e.g. Requiring registration), such content then might fall into category of Privately shared content, there are laws that would protect that, this would work very well in Forum, however can be tricky on Wiki, all of that needs to be designed in a smart way, simply because simple requirement of registration might just not be enough.
(e.g. you might need to move entire thread to closed off subforum)

The only thing I can't possibly fight in Germany with is probably DMCA.
