I had a different problem. I had a pair of formal shoes that made you pay every time anyone wore them. I don't know how they perfected the literal Achilles heel cutters, but you could only walk for 5 minutes before blisters formed and were cut open. They were very nice looking but were sacrificed to the gods for failure to shoe correctly.
