Further what I don't get is that the state erroneously labeled my crime "sexual exploitation of a minor" and yet I believe the textbook definition of "sexual exploitation" in this context is to use somebody for personal gain, be it financial or otherwise. That would imply that I either made it myself, sold or had receipt from the producers directly, solicited somebody into producing it or blackmailing somebody into producing it. Neither of which occurred. Again, please agree to the English language that we've all agreed upon here, shall we? Why should we invent new interpretations of already existing words? Talk about overbroad. And I'm not the first person to say this, either. Many people disagree (like Thurgood Marshall and Ted Weiss). Further, same applies with obscenity. Equally wrong to prosecute someone for it. And honestly, you even having it in your cache can count as a charge, do you even realize just how strict and grossly overbroad these laws are? In 2021, Apple tried to add something to iCloud that scanned for it, but after outrage from Apple users who feared the algorithm could censor anything from family photos to pictures someone intends to show a pediatrician, et cetera, then it could automatically flag it to NCMEC.
