It's meant to be downplayed I think but I think 16.7% could still be pretty alarming to a Westerner like myself considering how commonplace it is to develop profound emotional attachments to animals I'm sorry for your loss
I'm sorry for your loss I really wish I could delete the
I really wish I'd just left it alone, fuck
Thank you Mr. @rodion and Mr. @lurk ... truth be told I had been planning to get a second dog while my dog was still alive, so they could've grown together... it's a shame that my dog died as early as she did. The silence of no barks was deafening, so I definitely need to get another dog, even if for my own sanity.
There are too many dogs waiting to die in kill shelters, my current dog i initially didnt adopt bc he had buddy and i didnt have space for 2 but when i visited him again i saw someone got his buddy and he was still there. Im sure dogs would want us to keep caring for more of them its better for them to get a sense of family in their short lives.
Yeah @rodion I'm 100% a rescue dog guy, all of the dogs we've ever had came from shelters. We think—given her eventual size and other minor health issues—that she was the runt of the litter and her original owners just dumped her in a garbage bin just to get rid of her, which made me feel all the more better about rescuing her. I also think she understood how awful life could be because of that, so she worked extra hard to make everyone else happy. We hope to find another rescue puppy very shortly, but of course it's also about just finding the right dog at the right time.
Thank you Ms. @minty ... it's getting a little easier now, and I made all the gay little trinkets like pawprints in clay plus bits of her hair, so at least I have that. Some people don't even get to do that with their pets, so I'm at least grateful that I had the opportunity.
Here she was when she got an operation to remove a polyp on her butthole and she was in a diaper because she kept leaking poop everywhere:
