So I left and tried to find a better place, and no they all looked worse. While driving around some random got butthurt that I was driving the speed limit and kept looking over and screaming at me. This was about a little after midnight. So I unholstered my gun and aimed it at the door about the same height as his shoulders. He was in a smaller car and I was in the company SUV. Nothing came of it thank goodness; it would have been difficult to explain the bullet holes. On the way back to the "sign" hotel, I passed a old black guy just screaming, don't know what he was upset about, but he was going to let everyone know he was upset. And some hooker throwing bottles at parked cars.
This was about six or so blocks from a police station.
I hear Albuquerque is worse.

NM is known for mental illness. Literally.
So no surprise, Las Cruces PD is really fucked up.
Aside from the goofy politics and policies the PD has to somehow try to adhere to LC has some really fucked up people in it, and a lot seem to be on the PD.
Had to stop there on a overnight while on a business trip. The hotel I stayed at seemed ok, but the sign on the front door read, "Do not leave any belongings in your car. Do not leave things visible in your car. Hotel Management is not responsible for theft of your belongings." And it was a pretty professional looking sign, like they had it made. When I asked the night clerk, she said, "oh it's not as bad as it was before, and it's getting better."
