it's rare, and a recent thing, and i shouldn't do it on work days. last time i got shitfaced was 2015/16 Chinese new year. stopped drinking mostly because light beers drop my blood pressure and mess me up. but then i thought, ey, haven't drank any stouts since i was 16, let's see if i can get away with it. the ones i postwd in the what are you drinking thread are awesome, but fuck, 14.5% alcohol?? circling back briefly to pirate shenanigans from earlier n a book recommend

this is probably the most patriotic i will ever get but this book talks abt my fav pirates the lafitte brothers. during war of 1812 the english were trying to come up through louisiana n the lafittes had their pirate fleet there in their speshul bayou boats made for shallower water n would lead the brits aground n cannon their asses. i went down n got sloshed at their old blacksmith/smuggling den (it's a bar now). also talks abt preble n tripoli. preble was an absolute badass.

as a semi-related aside i went to listen to 1812 overture n almost projectile vomited 15 minutes as youtube played an ad mid-music while i was trying to listen to the fucking cannons go off
