Chinas weird because you can be directly in the middle of a huge city of 15 million people covered in tall modern buildings and then look at a photo of the exact same place 40 years ago and it has mud roads and wooden houses
The thing is you see videos and you assume its just a small sample and theres a huge population of them so theres plenty of videos of chinese not knowing how to drive
But no, its every one of them and they consider it perfectly normal
I wasn't in a car too much on my last trip to china but i have been this time and i have come to the firm conclusion that chinese people in china cannot drive. The ones you see in western countries are formula one drivers in comparison to the driving skills of the average mainland chinese person
Im on a two week trip to hong kong and currently going back there after being in mainland china the last 3 days
Ive noticed there is a vastly stronger police presence in Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Dongguang compared to when i was in Shanghai and the surrounding area in 2019
