You clearly don’t understand. The Krauts and other european nations heavily censor their media. The overwhelming amount of negative news reports, stories, articles, and other media concerning coverage of the US in general and President Trump in particular has always been unrelentingly negative.
So when the sitting US Vice President goes to Europe and correctly lambasts their governments for censoring & shutting down free speech, you’re darn right those insane Leftists are going to feel threatened and will run to their acolytes in the far-Left european press to issue a tsunami of reports that are critical of what he said. But the cat is out of the bag. More and more europeans will clamour for relief as whatever rights they have left are unceremoniously ground down to barren stumps.
The AfD is no flash in the pan. The dictatorial Leftists fear the populist uprising in Europe because they have done such a terrible job for so many years and they know it. But instead of offering new ideas, better ideas, or even hope, the Leftists - like all tyrants - lash out against their own people and those who would lead them to a new future that transcends the misery of the old guard.
