to be fair every paradox game has an unique feeling to it, for example HOI is typically focused on military power and playing as your favorite XX century ideology and CK is more focused on building your dynasties, arranging marriages and behind the scenes dickery

Paradox releases a half-broken bare bones game then spends a decade slowly releasing expansion packs that fix the game and are more like updates than anything else.

Just a reminder that in base-game CK2 you can't even play muslims or anybody outside of western europe.

serious answer though its not wanting to play as a muslim/indian/whatever, its just that those countries/characters are already present in the base game with all preexisting mechanics. you literally just have to pay 20$ to "unlock" content you already own.
