Director-writer David Lynch, who radicalized American film with with a dark, surrealistic artistic vision in films like “Blue Velvet” and “Mulholland Drive” and network television with “Twin Peaks,” has died. He was 78.

Lynch revealed in 2024 that he had been diagnosed with emphysema after a lifetime of smoking, and would likely not be able to leave his house to direct any longer. His family announced his death in a Facebook post, writing, “There’s a big hole in the world now that he’s no longer with us. But, as he would say, ‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.'”

The “Twin Peaks” TV show and films such as “Blue Velvet,” “Lost Highway” and “Mulholland Drive” melded elements of horror, film noir, the whodunit and classical European surrealism. Lynch wove tales, not unlike those of his Spanish predecessor Luis Bunuel, which proceeded with their own impenetrable logic.

i wonder what his early life section says...
bitch you thought
sorry but my dude meditated instead of fucking 12 yr old boys

he was, by all accounts, solid n good to work with, just like john carpenter is. which is why he was able to pull half his previous film actors for any upcoming project. n even those actors were clean too. not a single hollywood baby-eating expose penned against jack nance, kyle maclachlan, everett mcgill, sheryl lee.
find smth real to be upset about, petty bitches... like your lack of hoes

Y'know, a year before he died, someone in the 3dmm community named "HMC" made a movie called "My Dinner with Tom Bown" (originally made for a contest), it's a good movie, i recomended it, it has some good scenery and all that, i wont spoiler too much but in one scene, HMC goes into a room where its basically based off that red certain room from Twin Peaks, it's where he meets bown of course

and whatelse is that i like the soundtrack to "Lost Highway", it has NIN, it has Marilyn Manson, you name it

anyway rip :(

His movies mix reality with the subconscious, marathoned some of his production and had the most vivid lucid dreams. He said he just filmed a bunch of scenes and ties them together and never tells the actors the details to keep them confused.
