I'll never make this
Siorapaluk Generation Ship
the generation ship is one of several dozen reconnaissance satellites in space sent from a larger penal colony designed without return travel in mind
a special regimen of amnestics have been issued to 10 volunteering or conscripted criminals to alleviate Guilt
Finisterra Waystation
a race of eight-plated chitinous helmet mollusks manage a waystation where small artificial stars are produced, a source of light heat and nutrition. it's very far away from the generation ship, but has potentially followed in its image following a transmission they sent. thousands of stars must be mass-manufactured from day to day to ensure the quality of life is maintained
The Somnambulist will bring up the Intercessor screen for regular crew if they observe the creature without wearing the correct equipment to prevent it. This time, 2 of the panels will send them to the Somnambulist's dream, one of them will send them to Naraka (Chinese after death)
The crew were
- Gambling on games of dice
- Detailed at different cardinal flight decks while adjusting the ship's flight path
when
An alarm sounded to review the fuel budget
A critical alarm sounded alerting the crew to the successful penetration of the outer plating of one of the Whipple shields in the Somnambulist's antechamber
An apparently implanted memory in one of the crewmember mind alludes to the presence of an 11th crewmember aboard the ship who hasn't been accounted for
Naraka
Naraka is one of several locations based off of the personality (actions undertaken) of the crewmember who is hallucinating it. It's usually only possible to get to hell by observing the somnambulist's form directly without a DMT Agonist installed in your brain
DMT Agonist
A device that some time into the round may cause persistent psychotic delusions and audiovisual hallucinations, particularly either side of waking up. A complicated, difficult to remove neural implant¹ only initially worn by the 5th crewmember, the S
Immortality is achieved by exploiting the awakened mind of a dormant psionic. If they awaken now they have about as much agency as a server moderator
Dormant
The Somnambulist will only wake up when manually provoked, requiring the impenetrable antechamber to be breached (A 10th crewmember wasn't chosen)
The 5th crewmember, the S, was conscripted into one of thousands of generation ship projects. Initially, while they were still within communicating distance of the station's satellite network, they reported to them. The eventual cessation of communications was anticipated but the intermediate relays were deactivated by an unknown saboteur as they passed through several sectors in space foregrounded by a saturated blue light. They're stuck without any means of communication with the former colony or any other means of support. Despite never being administered amnestics they cannot remember any details about the criminal history of the other crewmembers, nor can they remember agreeing to board the satellite
The 10th crewmember maintains immortality, a gust of wind in their direction will total the foundation of the ship
They have to be trapped in a dream machine for as long as possible
Most often it's mental aberrations on the scenery from their early life
The philosophical antechamber has been bomb-proofed, Whipple shields installed; Everything possible to prevent intrusion or sabotage
Guilt
to balance the game and incentivise something diffferent than going ham with no pretense. There are various means to alleviate Guilt that incentivise creative or narratively satisfying solutions hopefully
engaging in certain activities will reconnect the crew with Guilt
can be caused by committing certain actions or adopted as a status effect
you suffer vivid hallucinations and feelings of intense dread from murdering or terminally injuring others, gradually less so for other things
not keeping active (unless you are away from the game) has adverse effects once prone to the experience
necessary cathartic breaks will reduce the likelihood of immobilization
amnestic can make the crew forget what they did again and calm them down
jobs?
not crew
- Sarcopterygii Holocene
an extraplanetary lobe-finned fish. Anomalous gland able to metabolize cortisol and other vital steroid hormones remotely
- Sarcopterygii Hiraeth
mutual parasite groomer of the waterborne Holocene. Often a symbiote that interfaces with the neurological tissue of the Holocene over nostalgia for a time in their species' history when they were less evolved - a highly intelligent terrestrial mammal much resembling or identical to a human

%% - 2, Palominos
you excel at planning course correction around debris fields and asteroids
$$ - 3, Stuard
you excel at planning and executing sustainable, regenerative systems
$$ - 4, Asclepius
configure the DMT agonist, adjust and moderate psionic catalysts
$$ - 5, S

hylical vision. Guilt makes hylics out of people
** - 9, "Tun" State
an industrial dreamer. you must fail an intelligence test to play this role
++ - 10, Somnambulist
intravenous DMT stem cell therapy machine, acts as a life support centrifuge of the entire ship
an anesthetized, carnal tree warped by thousands of years of intimate meditation that grows stem cell pinions into the roof of their capsule
++ - 11, Manes
some sort of hallucination. no one recalls boarding an 11th
gorse bush terrarium
cultivated gorse bush producing edible fruits
quinoa
lentils
Whipple shield
the therapy machines can cycle decaying biological material and defective cells much like a dialysis machine or something
Immortality is achieved by exploiting the awakened mind of a dormant psionic. Their mind grows stem cells like little branches
everyone has access to the diagnostician's manual or something
