So as you have surmised by now we have figured out how to feature a News Page. When logging into the dotcom you will initially be directed to featured news articles.
Currently the limit is six articles. Anymore articles will have to be loaded at the bottom (there's a tab that says load more) and I believe it is by date. While it is possible to feature threads in other categories, we just want threads from "News" and maybe some site-wide announcements (this being a good example).
Moderators and some with custom titles (i.e. Ben's Hub and Ancien Regime @.wil @GloriousReader) should be able to use this feature.
However, for a quick how-to I will go over the basics.
1. To feature an article, find a thread in the News section, click the top right of the thread and select "promote to article" like so:
2. The next screen is were you select the image. If the article has an image, you can use that. If someone just put a youtube video or no image, you can use OP's avatar:
Don't worry about the rest of the shit.
I still have a lot to learn about this. I will try to make it where the first few articles will be featured without having to manually do them. Some may prefer manually doing it to make sure shitty articles don't hit the front page.
On a side note, after listening to feedback, i decided to totally disable "merge posts" which auto merged consecutive posts.
Also I will be working on an App, it will be a simple browser wrapper to our website. Let's see how long it takes for it to be banned from the play-store.
