We don't need no stinking badges.
Some badges are automatic, meaning you will get them upon becoming a Mod, etc.
Some badges have to be manually assigned, but are still considered "automatic". One of these are the "Knights of the Old Republic".
You get that badge for being in the previous forum so hit some staff up if you don't have it.
Some are for knowledge. You will get a "Dank" badge if you have knowledge, demonstrated on this forum, of the Devil's Lettuce.
We will have custom badges as a way to save money. We will have an address setup here soon. It will only be a couple of bucks.
Displaying Badges
The current plugin we use requires you to go to your profile and click "feature badges" (looks like a megaphone) in order to display them on the forums.
To me, this is the plugin's only downside. Badges should be automatically featured. I'm not the only one who missed that according to the plugin's page.
We may switch to a different plugin for badges, which is why I am hesitant on going full throttle on the custom badges. I will keep researching this issue for the time being.
