Yeah, his downfall was hard to watch. Went from absolute pariah (at least here in Europe) to Mtv cocksucker within a year or so.

Lol he was big with the black lipstick crowd here. He wasn't as hugely successful as MTV talking heads thought. And the group as a whole annoyed the fuck out of their record label. Origin of Feces was supposed to be totally live but I believe they faked most of the 'live' recordings n just rerecorded slow deep n hard with slightly better playing.
Third Album Bloody kisses was considered their best but also their sellout. I still like a lot of the songs on there. And the band as a whole were apparently pretty good guys. Steele got clean n got mental health help n was gonna do one more album b4 he died. I love a lot of their later songs too, but both rock is a staple to me n they're more self aware than most of that genre. They were mostly hard partying goofballs that didn't usually think shit thru (see Steele's assault charges n posing for playgirl without realizing most readers of Playgirl were gay men).
I think Kenny (I think) went n became an EMT after Steeles death.

Type Os first album was written in a booze soaked drug addled rage after Steele found out his gf at the time was cheating on him. He was working as a maintenance worker I. Central park driving a trash truck n bitch broke his heart. So a few of the guys from Carnivore suggested he write music about it instead of committing homicide, which was what he was originally planning.
