Tech faggotry

it's literally the law here in the US. publicly traded companies are legally obligated to maximize shareholder profits.
By burning companies and brands into the fucking ground.
Obviously they'll start by dropping software support for the older parts of their product portfolio, then lock basic features behind a subscription, make a Confused_Tucker_Carlson_Puppy_Shat_The_Bed_Face.jpg when their former customers start buying their kit from other brands, fire the guys who make the kit but have no say in policy, bonuses for all executives.
Repeat.

... so why we had the last few years of FAGOPACALYPSE?
blackrock, vanguard, state street, etc. (((larry fisk))) has been using his position at blackrock to basically blackmail the companies that blackrock owns majority stake in.... which is pretty much all of them. since his little ESG pet project has backfired, he now wants to set up a new stock exchange in texas. another reason companies are going woke is because of NYSE's new diversity policies being forced on them. either hire more BIPOC or get delisted from the world's largest stock exchange.

tl;dr = jews.

yes. by law, that is what they should do.

have you not been watching what companies like adobe have been doing?

Plenty of software publishers do so.
Push it into the cloud, recurring revenue, raise prices.
Broadcom is doing it with VMWare right now, and about everyone I know in the sysadmin space have migrated away from them, are in the midst of migration or plan to migrate in the near future.
Same shit with Oracle. Over two years since they changed the java license they've lost between 87 and 92% (depending on sources) of their paying java customers and have made their customers of all their other products jittery. Short term yacht money for Larry, long-term they are conditioning their customers to not buy into Oracle as they'll Darth Vader the deal down the line.

hah, i forgot about the vmware deal. ive been saying recently that american car companies want to do the same; sure would be a shame if you're late for work because you failed to pay for your monthly software update and your car "accidently" bricks itself. disregard the already monthly payments to the bank for a $50k loan on a used car and the biden executive order for a mandatory "kill switch".

Many cars have remote killswitches already.
One journalist had his Tesla "accidentally" disabled after calling him out on twitter. Your side of the pond many car lease firms apparently track the cars in real time and have remote killswitches for repo purposes.

If they do then only select models have this kill switch because in Merica, repo-ing is still wild west stuff.

Just read about it back in 2022, apparently integrates with OnStar or some such shite where it isn't an integral feature of the car like in Teslas. I think part of the idea is to make repoing less wild west as the owner will be unable to try and use the vehicle to escape.

there's a reason my car is 20 years old (and nearing 200k odometer miles).
I'm currently looking for a new car that I can pay for in cash and do most basic maintenance on myself without having to fucking jailbreak it, and what I'm coming up with are essentially 10 year old 4WD family vans with flexible seating.
I do appreciate room to haul my shite around. Might pick up a second car though, some small as shite electric jobby with a range of 140-150km for strictly city/local use, the smart FourTwo seems convenient as it is small enough to fit on a shelf in my garage if I wanted to store it away over winter and also fits in my hardshell trailer.

Oh OnStar. LOL.
OnStar bricking a Chevy/GM product is like putting a leash on a bolder.
People opt out of that now. And there are numerous YTube vids on how to permanently disable the tracker.

Didn't know that was still a thing. Thought that was all high end models: Audi, Benz, etc.,

People do all kinds of weird shit to keep their car from being repo'ed. There was a guy in my neighborhood that parked his truck on my street and walked back to his house well over a mile. Then a former roommate. She would rent a garage in a storage lot and hide her truck there.

I paid my mortgage to not have my car repoed.
Then again, my bank was flexible the one time I couldn't pay on time due to unforeseen expenses. Paid a quarter more over the next four payments and all it took was an email.

pretty much everyone has that tech tracker shit
vw has it, beamer has it

pretty much when the warranty runs out on my car, i'm pulling that "connected car" bs out.
was fine with the privacy policy when i first bought the car, but they changed it twice now.
