What is Rosh Hashanah?

Rosh Hashanah doth not appeare in the Geneva Bible, but is called "Zikron Teruah." (Leviticus 23:24)

Trumpets in ancient Israel were used to sound the alarm for warre and the coronation of kings, as in the holy writ. (Jeremiah 4:19, Ezekiel 7:14, 1 Kings 1:33–39)

Rosh Hashanah doth mark the first feast day for mankind, when Adam was created and the feasts of Israel were first kept.
