do you like fantasy and want a big project?

I consider recommending Steven Erikson's Malazan series since you seem to like bigger books with lots of political implications.
Well, Steven Erikson's books are all basically a historical, political and geological allegory but written in fantasy.

are the main characters all animals?

tbh i don't think my brain is wired for long serious book series shit. i run adhd software so i can't really do a ton of fiction in the first matter, let alone by the same author. the tendency always leans towards rabbit hole'ing
i can't get even get a book started rn in the first place since my brain is in "make stuff" mode for the late night shoopy thread n other sewing ideas. it gets in the way of the brain overthinking shit n if i'm not listening to non-vocal music i end up unable to focus on either a book or an idea /shrugs

uuuh thats kind of a hard one to answer because there are surely creatures that aren't human, and alot of weird animals like hybrid monkies he made up just for funsies.

also as an adhd person you'll love this series.
it's HUGE and there's something for everyone to love here. despite the fact that it's like 1000 page long novels at certain points, there are so many characters, so many subplots and shit to keep track off, that you will not, EVER be bored.

bahahaha
yeah its not for everyone, they're girthy boys but god they're good.
also, the first 3 books are on one continent, the others are on another continent, then they go to another, and go back...
it's ALOT of jumping back and forth and shifting between characters and it's basically more than 1000 characters in this entire series, alone.
10 books are just the core books too.
oh yeah, im basically a snowflake at this point.
