yeh, i just think bookworm nerds have a tendency to over-explain shit like coloring n when it comes to birds it don't work
peacocks are EXCEEDINGLY vibrant n not poisonous
in terms of red birds, here's a scarlet tanager: not poisonous

a summer tanager: not poisonous (but still toxic i had to google this they are on my route n will land in ppls yards n then fly away when i try to photograph them)

that quail n shrikethrush look normal af
n lastly here's a cuban tody, one of my favorite birds. super vibrant n not poisonous

ornithologists should stfu abt bird appearances n stick to givin' em weird n slightly pervy names like bigbeaked tit-babbler or some shit
