Favorite movies?

If you caught me in 2003 it would've been The Royal Tenenbaums. I still enjoy it but Wes Anderson has become TOO Wes Andersony and watching his movies now feels like I'm being held under overchlorinated pool water. He just can't help himself.

Today, probably Robocop. It's aged like wine over the years and is, by all metrics, a perfect movie.

Other movies that I have no problems with watching again and again ad nauseum:
* all Star Trek films (from TMP to Beyond... maybe not Nemesis and Into Darkness; yes, I prefer Star Trek V over those two)
* all Tron films (I don't care if Legacy and Ares flopped; I got two more Tron films than I ever expected to get)
* both Blade Runner films
* The Empire Strikes Back
* Airplane!
* Alien & Aliens

It's hard to choose a favorite because it all depends on the mood I'm in. Like, clearly I'm in a sci-fi mood right now.

Oh yeah, Isle of Dogs was pretty good. Moonrise Kingdom was also fairly refreshing.

Okay, a few of my favourite ones.

Hardboiled & The Killer by John Woo
Trainspotting (both 1 and 2)
Masculine Femenin (Jean luc godard)
City of God (absolute fucking masterpiece of a movie)
Chungking Express & In the mood for love, Fallen Angels is good too.
Tokyo Drifter
Amelie
Napoleon Dynamite

I like alot of different shit.

you really need to watch these films. Masculine femenin is brilliant piece of french new wave if you like that sort of films, Tokyo Drifter is probably the slickest Tokyo Noir film ever made (and the only time I'll ever allow whistling a tune as part of movie exposition), also all of Wong Kar Wai is absolute cinema.
Fair warning though, Fallen Angels is nothing like Chungking Express or In the mood for love (but in a good way). If you're in to romantic films, 100% recommend In the mood for love. Even the cinematography screams sensuality.
