This is basically movie thread, what you watched recently, discuss things. Similar to the book thread but for muh visual things.
Anyways, I finally got around to watching Tarkovsky's Solaris and it was so fucking good but bleak. Got around it by watching old hollywood classic royal wedding which was a fun watch, Fred Astaire dancing on all the walls and the ceiling in the room=absolute cinema.

During my past week holiday in Scotland, I basically rewatched some of my favourite movies on the DVD player i borrowed from my dad (it was actually his birthday present lol)

House
Meet The Feebles
The Lawnmower Man
Gummo
Audition
you name it

but there was one new movie I watched during the week, it was Mrs. Brown's Boys D'Movie..... it wasn't as comical as the TV show it's based on but hey at least it was alright, A bit of Austin Powers-esque elements here and there

I had watched Bugonia (2025) and Mickey 17 (2025).

I want to specifically give respect to entire crew of Bugonia, holy fucking shit I never seen film that is so greatly filmed, greatly written, every fucking decision and happening make sense (as far as imaginary event can go) , great actor play, great lighting and composition, everything, I watched so much junk and then there is something like that, I would not even say anything about it to not spoil what the movie is about, it is just great. It also have very thin line of dark humor, which I also enjoyed. The only film where I ever cared to look for the cast, it was so sad that I learned that people who were responsible for that film never made any other film together before, they seem to have great symbiosis that I crave and no one in film industry delivers.

Mickey 17 was pretty special movie as well, it just unique and special, not something you can see often either.

So I would recommend both movies in case you didn't watch them and want something new.

heard many great things about bugonia but I really don't like watching movies while they're hyped; specifically I'll even wait as long as 5+ years sometimes to watch something, ESPECIALLY if it's hyped to the point of something like bugonia or sinners, because it becomes either a huge dissapointment or "ooooh this is actually kino" moment, no inbetween.

Finally got around to seeing Kids from 1995, and holy fuck if it isn't one of the greatest anti drug movies i've ever seen. It's raw, it's visceral and it's creepy as fuck but does its job so well.

Yeah, the drugged out guy fucking the passed out girl that just found out she had some major STDs was pretty raw if I say so myself.
