Anarchy is just fucking impossible

I don’t believe in anarchy as a system. If anarchy were to actually break out, it wouldn’t last long. I see only two possible outcomes of anarchy:

1. People will engage in an endless cycle of violence, following the principle of “kill or be killed.” No one will be able to control this - there is no state, and therefore no law enforcement agencies. Either another state will have to intervene, which will definitely put an end to the anarchy, or everyone will kill each other.
2. Someone will emerge who, amid the anarchy, wants to become a leader. This person might gather a group of like-minded individuals who will promote the leader’s ideas. This leader could seize power, and what happens next is obvious.

In the latter case, I’ll say that anarchy implies the absence of authority as such. And if even one person seizes power - there will no longer be anarchy.
Why is this the case? The answer is simple. Human beings are selfish by nature. They want to gain at least some power, at least some control. And since people are ruled by their emotions - allowing ambition and malice to get the better of them - blood will be shed one way or another in the process of seizing that power.

tl;dr - blah blah ANARCHY IS SUSTAINABLE yap yap IT'S EITHER GONNA DEVOLVE TO "KILL OR BE RAPED" OR SOMEONE SEIZES POWER AND BECOMES THE AUTHORITY blah blah HUMANS ARE TOO SELFISH SO IT WOULDN'T LAST LONG

anarchy is unsustainable because there is a pattern humans generally tend to follow, an evolutionary process. it's not set in stone, but it generally looks like this
anarchy > tribe> tribe vs tribe> kingdom> kingdom vs kingdom> nation> nation vs nation> empire> empire vs empire> global empire everlasting, the boot stamping on a human face – for ever.

oh child, you haven't gotten to "the state has a monopoly on violence. and all the violence people are scared abt happening when they clutch their pearls abt anarchy already occurs within the state apparatus, with rules n laws existing and none of that stops it" in your anarchism 101 book. that's on the second page
people existed for hundreds of thousands of years living in bands engaging in small scale conflicts, farming together, n taking care of their sick n injured n to think they would behave differently after the initial collapse ripples die down is absurd

Back before farming, hunter gatherer societies really couldn't kill or excommunicate others in their groups because they ran with like groups of 30 people and needed everyone. So, if someone started to act up, they would sing songs about them at the campfire to embarrass them into complying for a very short period before re-acceptance and re-assimilation into the crew.

For people that didn't get them memo, they still didn't imprison them or kill them, they just stopped talking and interacting with them as if this was some kind of cult where you were present but persona non grata and you either went slowly insane or re-assimilated because humans have a built in need for communicating with other humans.

This feature got mostly destroyed by farming because that allowed larger groups of people to gather together in cities and not every person could know who everyone else was anymore. So, you get rejected by one group and find another who don't know you yet.

In this context, anarchism is just the human brain wanting to go back to hunter gatherer society level politics because you don't play well with others and cannot accept the rules that whatever the society you belong to comes with. That is why it is doomed to fail every time.

never considered my unicorn ideology this way... i'll concede my ppl don't like society
always doomed to fail, yes, but not because of that
most of the functional, fully formed frontal lobe adults who've ended up on the path that i've interacted with have been insanely well-read n capable.

i've always felt it's doomed to fail because it requires a heavy amount of self-discipline n intellect n skills that a lot of people don't care to partake in anymore. are you capable of de-escalating conflicts between your neighbors? are you going to work the farm and do it consistently in all seasons? are you going to deal with the animals n knit the wool for winter? can you start a fire without a book of matches? do you know what local plants are safe? do you know how to patch a roof?
hell, the anarchist i used to chat with on edf a decade ago built his own homestead n sent me pictures of the peppers he was growing. smart man. hope he's doing well

Anarchism would work if everyone was like me and Minty, unfortunately many people are useless ape retards
"anarchism would work, if only everyone was lobotomized of individuality, and a robot programmed in my image"
well now we know why it's impossible to achieve, case closed
/thread

Also you fatgots need to realize anarchism isnt lack of governance its governance without nationstates
one of the fundamental misunderstandings of the ideology, tbh
makhno n the makhnovshchina
zapata n the later zapatistas
kropotkin talks of a watchmaker commune that traded what they made for outside resources in conquest of bread
there's a ton of different decentralized systems where even bare minimum implementation of anarchist policies, like direct democracy instead of representative, would be beneficial to adopt in hellholes like the u.s. but too many ppl think it'd be mad max bullshit

bookchin wept

You're right about anarchy being a short-term jam, it just turns into ruling warlords which try growing into dynasties. The western world instead is closer to becoming a society of factions, which eventually will lead to conflicts.

“not being a fat retard is akin to lobotomy :’(“
the Amish and the Menonites already are living and practicing what you preach, and they don't reject outsiders willing to join. they'd take Patryk too, they could always use a beast of burden. yet you are not among them. why? because it's boring. no no no, i like your idea. i'm a boring person, i could live that life. but these kind of societies, they existed unchanged for millenias, with little to no progress*, no cursus honorum (an artificial social ladder one could climb) to propell them forward. you like them on an intellectual level, but could you live in them?

*years ago i went to a lecture by a historian that explained that war is the biggest driver of mankind's progress. this is true, but the thing that bothers me: is progress inherently a good thing, or something that upsets the man-nature balance?

“Anarchism is when you live with the Amish”

“Anarchism is when you live with the Amish”
the retardedly vague and broad way you describe it, yeah
"governance minus the ethno state" - that could include
monarchies
city states
hippie communes
tribal confederacies
fucking anything

I said nationstate not ethno state

Also maybe you should actually learn about this independently instead of strawmanning a single sentence you read on a dead forum, retard

like, if you have

i didn't strawman anything, you left everything open to interpretation. that's on you for being too lazy to be specific. also, @minty is here, and anarchism she describes isn't a way of governance, it's a way of life, 19th century USA frontier life before the government expanded and imposed itself
self-sufficient natives and pioneers

You strawmanned me to the point that you didn’t even read my actual comment correctly, illiterate cracker

this is bait. i have read it, and i should have called you out earlier, because this shit:
Also you fatgots need to realize anarchism isnt lack of governance its governance without nationstates
is even a bigger bait, and i am surprised smarter people than me didn't call you out on it. anarchy IS the absence of a government body. it's in the name. anything else anyone can say on the matter is just mental gymnastics. what minty said? bells and whistles. it doesn't matter if decisions are made by direct democracy or trial by combat or how daily life and economy are structured. no government = anarchy.
