Look, I like paul in the mall as much as the next guy, but sometimes he would add the {{archiveorg}} template to archive links I added to the wiki.

He would do this because it would add the little archive.org symbol to the link, thus making it look neater.

The issue is: The template does not actually function. It will not take the person who clicks on it to the actual archived page. It will take them to an error page.

Please, for the love you bare me, fix those dumbass link templates that add little logo images next to the links. They do not function well.

The reason why I do not bother with link templates, is because they function like a broken toy. This fact seems lost on paul.

Ok, looked into it; the archiveorg template works fine, you're not using it properly. That screenshot has you typing in the generic date code for a wayback archive, but the archiveorg template needs the URL for an actual archive.org page.

For example, if the URL is https://archive.org/details/5995285-John-T-Earnest-19MJ1900-Complaint then add in everything after "details/"

Are you trying to add a wayback machine link? Use {{wayback}} instead.

Attempting to link a specific screencap will result in the template link not working, only trying to get it to link to the overall Calander works.
