DOGE has an expiration date of July 4, 2026. So haste is of the essence.
Yes a screening process should be in place to catch such fuck ups like the screw worm issue.

However, catching and reinstating it two months later is a very rapid course correction for something as big as the US federal government. What's the alternative? Not reinstate? Not admit a mistake was made? And a two month lapse means nothing in the spread of the screw worm and largely the salaries of the people who are working on this issue. The US gov always pays so they'll get back pay. Relax.

The fact that 250+ year old social security accounts that were still paying out were closed is a start. However, why don't we know the names of who was paid that money? Someone had to be cashing the checks. Bondi is useless.
