mint farm 2.0

Both are adorable. Only 1 chick though?
well, i HAD 4 other baby chicks until earlier this month, and the hen in the box next to her was also sitting on 2 eggs that i had upkept on candling and they were both due to hatch around the same time. whenever a hen goes broody i have to make sure they aren't sitting on like, 15 eggs, cuz another hen will see a broody hen or a hen with fresh hatches n then go broody as well.
so yes, goldberry just has the one baby

spent the first week of feb dealing with leftover january curse
i got sick, again.
boo healed up, insisted on going outside, n then promptly disappeared
the two gold-laced wyandottes disappeared...

in less miserable news i started the lion's mane mushrooms n the eggs in the incubator, n am feeling better-ish enough to keep an eye on shit more now after work... it's warming up enough i can plant the potatoes n onions tomorrow
today i repaired the coop nesting boxes since the wood was coming apart
