American issues aren’t hard to understand because you all have regressed 2000 years and are now grappling with questions the rest of us resolved a long time ago. Questions like “should child rapists be president?” or “should poor people die?”

Teachers live a dull life. If you're a math teacher, you teach math until you retire. About the only exception is if the school has you do something like being a football coach. If a teacher leaves their school district or quit, they don't full retirement. So even if a teacher hates their job, they are locked in and not going anywhere. During the school year teachers work insane hours.
This is the same for many other occupations. If you're a computer programmer, you're doing whatever your company tells you to do. And you get used to making a lot of money, even if you want to quit, you really can't.
Same for nurses, doctors etc etc.
Not to mention many of these jobs require you to live in a city where you have an agonizing commute to and from work.
If you live in minimum wage, you got mobility. You're able to try out different jobs at the drop of a hat. If you get fired, so what. Physical labor jobs like landscaping, roofing, trash pickup, city maintenance allow you to spend the majority of your day outside.
You're making a lot of assumptions but you don't know shit.
We can also look at people who don't live in predominantly white-western countries. In Japan and China people work a LOT of hours. In other places like Gaza, half the population is unemployed. The other half, I doubt the majority of them are living comfortably.

For reference for you fat sloppy Americans I live in a big city and my commute to work is 20 minutes. That’s ten minutes of walking and ten minutes on a subway. I never have with traffic. I don’t waste money on a car, and my carbon footprint is minimal. On my way to or from my work I can buy groceries, clothes, go to the gym, see friends.

The right to go to college must be based on merit and a privilege that is earned.
Before anyone goes to college, they must prove they can work a normal job for at least 5 years. Everyone must have a taste of the real world. None of this going directly from high school to college.
Then to be accepted, you must demonstrate you have the prerequisites. You also must show some initiative. People with zero experience in programming shouldn't be allowed to enroll. It isn't that hard to contribute to open source projects or something else in your free time. Obviously, this might not work for degrees such as nursing. But maybe we should have pre-college apprenticeships.
If you slacked off in high school and don't have the required reading/writing skills or whatever, no college for you. This would filter out worthless nepo babies. You also wouldn't see admissions based on a person's perceived marginalization status.
