Ukrainian Troops Clear Pokrovsk Amid Fierce Russian Assaults in Donbas, Kremlin Losses Mount

Ukraine clears Pokrovsk and nearby settlements in the Donbas, inflicting heavy losses on Russia, while repelling assaults and advancing in multiple sectors.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have scored major successes in the Donetsk region, expelling Russian troops from Pokrovsk and several settlements near Dobropillya, the General Staff of Ukraine reported.

From Aug. 4 to 16, joint operations by the National Guard’s 1st Azov Corps and the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) cleared Hruzske, Rubizhne, Novovodyan, Petrivka, Vesele, and Zolotiy Kolodyaz.

“The forces of the 7th Airborne Assault Corps and related units cleared the town of Pokrovsk of enemy groups and individual occupiers,” the report on Telegram said.

The General Staff said Russian forces suffered significant losses:

910 killed
335 wounded
37 captured
Additionally, Ukrainian forces destroyed or damaged 8 tanks, 6 armored vehicles, 103 vehicles and motorcycles, 1 MLRS, 18 guns, and 91 UAVs.

Stabilization operations continue near Dobropillya, where six Russian soldiers surrendered in the past day alone, the report adds.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces advanced up to 1,000 meters in Sumy region’s Yablunivka area.

However, the Dnipro operational-strategic group reports that the Russian army continues its attempts to advance in the Donetsk region, with tense situations unfolding simultaneously in two sectors.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces are attempting to block the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration, carrying out assaults near Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Promyn, Chunyshyne, Novoekonomichne, Lysivka, and Zvirove.

Attacks are also reported in Udachne, Novopavlivka, Filiya, and Horikhove, aimed at reaching the administrative border of the Donetsk region.

Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the onslaught, inflicting significant losses on enemy troops, the Dnipro group said.

In the Novopavlivka sector, Russian forces are focusing on areas near Yalta, Andriivka-Klevtsove, Voskresenka, Maliivka, Novomykolaivka, Ternove, and Komyshuvakha. Intense fighting continues there, as Russian troops attempt to advance despite sustaining heavy manpower and equipment losses.
On Aug. 17, Russia launched 60 Shahed drones and an Iskander-M ballistic missile. Ukraine shot down 40 drones, but strikes hit 12 locations across the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, as per Ukraine’s Air Force.

At the same time, Russian territory was hit by drones. According to Russian media, in Voronezh region, a railway station was damaged, leaving one worker hospitalized and trains delayed.

Fires broke out at a market, a shop, and a gas pipeline, while in Voronezh city, ten cars and several buildings were damaged.

A source in Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) confirmed to Kyiv Post that drones struck the infrastructure of the Lisky railway station in Russia’s Voronezh region.

The operation was carried out by the HUR in coordination with units of the State Border Service and other components of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

The source said the strike disrupted rail traffic, halting the transport of personnel and supplies through the station.

“As a result, the supply of ammunition and personnel to the occupation army was disrupted,” the source added.

The Lisky railway station serves as a key logistical hub supporting Russian Armed Forces operations in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Fuck Putin. When Russia went to war with Ukraine, Iran supported them with their Shahed drones, but when Israel attacked Iran, Putin tried to spin it for personal gain.

Putin condemned the October 7 Hamas-led attack on Israel that sparked the Gaza war and said Israel had a right to defend itself, but also criticized Israel's response and said Israel should not besiege the Gaza Strip in the way Nazi Germany besieged Leningrad. Putin suggested that Russia could be a mediator in the conflict.[36]

In December 2023, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia's goals of "demilitarization" and "denazification" in Ukraine were similar to Israel's stated goals of defeating Hamas and extremism in Gaza.[37][38]

Palestine–Ukraine relations are bilateral relations between the State of Palestine and Ukraine. The Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic recognized Palestinian independence on 19 November 1988.[1] Palestine recognized Ukraine as a sovereign state in February 1992.[2] On 2 November 2001, the two countries established diplomatic relations and the Palestinian embassy opened the same day.[3] Ukraine has supported UN resolutions against Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories.

Israeli–Palestinian conflict
edit
In December 2016, Ukraine as a non-permanent member of United Nations Security Council voted in favor of resolution 2334, which criticised Israel's settlement policy in the West Bank. Ukrainian Foreign Ministry considered the resolution's text balanced since it also urged the Palestinian side to adopt measures to counter terrorism.[13] Ukraine's ambassador to the UN, Volodymyr Yelchenko, likened Israel's settlement of the West Bank to the Russian occupation of Crimea.[14]

In January 2020, Ukraine withdrew from the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP). This decision was approved by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.[15]

In November 2022, Ukraine supported a UN resolution that asked the International Court of Justice to investigate Israel's "prolonged occupation, settlement and annexation of Palestinian territory". In response, Israel summoned and admonished the Ukrainian ambassador.[16] Shortly after, in "an apparent act of retaliation", Israel did not vote for a UN resolution calling on Russia to pay reparations for invading Ukraine.[17]

During the Gaza war, Ukraine's Foreign Ministry condemned attacks on Palestinian civilians in Gaza and supported a two-state solution to the conflict.[18] More than 300 Ukrainian scholars, activists and artists expressed solidarity with Palestinians in an open letter.[19] Most of the Ukrainian community in Gaza was forced to flee the country because of the war.[20]

On 2 June 2024, Zelensky reiterated Ukraine's support for a two-state solution. He remarked that, while Ukraine has supported Israel's right for self-defence against Hamas during the attacks in October 2023, during the humanitarian crisis Ukraine said that it is ready to help Gaza humanitarianly and it "will do everything so that Israel stops and civilians do not suffer."[21]

On 18 July 2024, Ukraine sent a gift of 1,000 tons of its wheat flour to the Palestinian territories. According to the foreign ministry, the package will be enough to support more than 100,000 Palestinian families for a month.[22]

Anyone remember back in 2020 when some namefag called "SoL" doxed tens of thousands of Antifa in Portland, OR and Asheville, NC via social engineering using public wifi and found ties to Chinese nationals and expats, likely with ties to the Chinese Communist Party (that's since been scrubbed from the internet)? Pepperidge Farms does.

Btw, this pic has names all in it if you zoom in.

Azov sold guns and grenades to AWD and other nationalsocialists in Europe through IM and Telegram.

Anyone remember this? Russia already had Chernihiv blocked off and encircled and yet UAF still broke through. Azov even knew how to unblock Mariupol but chose to remain in the city for the sole purpose of attriting Ru special forces in the city.
classic russian army procedure, half-assed invasion, kill the civilians, level the town and whine about nazis

Tunnel warfare is the same way Hamas is attriting the fuck out of Israel right now. Its lead to the point that many Israeli top generals are resigning. Israel has pretty much plagiarized the Russian playbook.

LOL neither of you know what happened.

HOLEE FUCK. It was just two years ago.
This was during the opening days of the main invasion. It was discovered that the main columns were halted because the generals bought sub-standard equipment like tires which weren't rated to support the weight, the entire column was halted and they were shelled. So the overwhelming force which would have washed over the defenders and shore up any holes in the line, never arrived. The responsible generals who pocketed the excess from buying TEMU military supplies were ordered to the front lines and were killed in battle.

Concerning Mariupol, it was well known and well publicized that Zelensky had taken over day to day planning of military actions and basically let them perish. Their resupply often consisted of sixty rounds. When it fell soldiers that escaped reported often they would go days without food or medical supplies.
Some in HC wanted to pull out before the complete encirclement but were overruled and they fell just like the 6th at Stalingrad. This military blunder is directly attributable to Zelensky's "hold at all costs" doctrine, and we've seen several examples of this same doctrine employed and resulting in the exact results: Advika, Bakhmut , Sievierodonetsk, etc.,
