book thread

listened today to dostoevsky's dream of a ridiculous man
i liked it. i liked that the untainted earth spoke to trees
i am now listening to black angels, about the black nurses who helped cure tuberculosis up in ny
more importantly, able to focus on today's literature because it's not written in a retarded manner

actually, it just proves how lazy white ppl are since the only reason black nurses ended up in the wards was because white women kept leaving the nursing profession

I recently reacquired these three books by Yoshiko Uchida. I read these nonstop in 6th grade but totally forgot about them until recently, so I bought them online. Pleasantly surprised to see that these copies haven't been read much at all (nice crisp pages), but clearly the good people of the Elsik NGC Library in Houstan Texas aren't interested in learning about life as a Depression-era Japanese-American girl from California who deals with discrimination. Booooo

Yah, crying about discrimination because someone’s a POC is played out. DEI is dead and normal people are fed up hearing/reading about non-whites and their complaints whilst they live in country founded by whites, built by whites, imagined by whites, and structured by whites.

Bitch these books were written in the 80's before you were an itch in the milk man's crotch, let alone "DEI" was a thing

built by whites, imagined by whites, and structured by whites.
That's a highly dubious claim. Especially since if you're trying to claim YOU'RE white

B*tch these books were written in the 80's before you were an itch in the milk man's crotch, let alone "DEI" was a thing
And yet there are people around TODAY who complain that the books aren’t being read by enough people.

That's a highly dubious claim. Especially since if you're trying to claim YOU'RE white
I don’t have to claim it. My long and naturally flaxen hair in combination with my pure alabaster white skin do all of the talking.

And yet there are people who think you're beautiful. That's their problem, and your's. Not the problem with the book.

I don’t have to claim it. My long and naturally flaxen hair in combination with my pure alabaster white skin do all of the talking.
confirmed: Quence is Amy Schumer. And just as unfunny

sure was nice of the guy to leave a link to the audio book he found.

a guy named dyke gets his dick chopped off then befriends 8-foot tall man-eating bugs... enjoy!
That is way too coherent to hold a candle to Bret easton Ellis drivel.

I'm currently going through Agatha Christies books because why not.
Currently reading And There Was None.

I'm also kinda mad that the library here does not have all the books in order, thank god for non sucession books.
Also, Poirot best man in book versions.
