i havent made pulled pork in probably a year or two. daughter's been asking me to make it again.
i used it to break in the new slow cooker :meow:
it's been good leftover eats to bring in for lunch time. slap a few pickles on for some flavor contrast

now that there's no crops left to manage n it won't overheat the house i have the strongest urge to cook a ton of shit

i dont get leftovers. anything left in the fridge gets vacuumed up by my teenage brats lol.
lucky? my son's too picky to eat anything i make, which sucks cuz i want him to have a more varied diet, but at least he's not downing goyslop so...

not a recipe but i made lunch for work i swirled some honey and walnuts in whole fat greek yogurt

its crazy, they're both picky but their likes/dislikes are almost mirror opposite. one likes sausage but hates pepperoni while the other likes pepperoni and hates sausage. they've been learning little things here and there, like last week they made homemade fries from scratch and before that i showed them how to make 'egg in a basket'.

oh, by "homemade fries" i just mean deep fried potato wedges.

Here's a recipe for "green slime" as an alternative to candy for Halloween

You will need:
  • 1 pumpkin
  • 1 pint of lime sherbet
  • 1 pint of vanilla ice cream
  • 1 20 oz. bottle of Mountain Dew Baja Blast
  1. Cut open the top of the pumpkin. Scoop out all the insides and seeds. You want a nice, relatively clean pumpkin.
  2. Mix together the lime sherbet and vanilla ice cream and pour into the pumpkin.
  3. Pour the soda over the top
  4. ????
  5. Profit!

my kid has texture issues. he'll eat fries and chips, but mashed or baked potato is a no go. i wanna get an air fryer so we can home make fries.
potato wedges are the shit

now that it's not hot af out the urge to cook a ton is out of control
my harvested stuffs were startin' to try and wilt in the fridge so i threw my greens (mizuna and carrot) and black carrots were tossed into the slow cooker with some potat n a chuck roast

last night made a vegetable stew (partially to offset the vast amt of pulled pork i consumed this last week... i didn't even make the full recipes worth it called for 9 pounds n i made 7 n i still caved n gave the rest to the dog after eating 2 pulled pork sandwiches a day)

carrots, collard greens, barley, leek, homegrown pumpkin (the recipe called for butternut squash but i didn't have any)
also made this braided bread

got walnuts, craisins, and gold raisins in it
it's supposed to look nicer but i forgot to brush the egg over it before baking... still bangin' tho

is feta cheese savoury enough for you?
Not really, no. Caramelised onions and some yeast extract might do the trick for me. Not negging your pie, I just don't particularly enjoy spinach by itself, so I'd have loaded it with BCB's of some sort.

so basically how i prepared the filling
>thaw it on the sieve and squeeze out excess water by hand
>put olive oil and 2 chopped onions in a pot
>brown the onions
>put some minced garlic
>put the spinach
>cook everything
>cool everything down
>add fresh chopped dill and parsley
>add diced feta
>add four eggs

that's the pie, the rest is phillo dough p much

Certainly helps.
Then again I am a barbarian that will overcheese, baconate and/or add burnt crunchy bits to any non-dessert pie, and a twinkle of MSG.
