Software piracy isn't handled the same way no more. Back in the '90s the gubmint showed it's teeth.... only yo have them plucked out because everybody does it thanks to Torrenting and the feds lost a major case, so now it only applies to selling pirated shit. So this is perfectly legal now.

Psst. All you need is Windisk w/ 7/XP Ultimate running decompiler on PC to fetch the source code and patched up using GNU. Then:

>Take a decompiled Win7/XP core
>Strip all the COM garbage and IE hooks
>Patch the kernel to boot inside QEMU or real hardware
>Replace HAL, ntoskrnl components, GDI, etc., with GNU/Linux analogues
>Port coreutils, init, bash, maybe even udev to handle hardware
>Bolt on Wine or ReactOS DLLs for Win32 API compatibility
>Slam X.org or Wayland on top and fake explorer.exe with Qt or GTK
>Call it “GNU/NT” or “Gentoondows-ng”

youre so fucking "how hard could it be" about this, it is a project that few have tried due to size and scope

there are textbooks devoted to reverse engineering windows code, they are painful to read even for experienced coders

the original source code is more secret than the fucking formula for coca cola, and STILL one of the worst OS kernels of all time. decades of "upgrades" and patches and shit have turned it into a demented mess that even the smartest coders have real trouble figuring out. microsoft is hated for good reasons. they just keep reusing the same old crap, throwing more "features" on top.

win 12 will probably still have a hackable registry and shitty driver interfaces, and be the #1 malware target, just like all previous versions.

just get ubuntu and wine and try that for running your games, it will "probably work"

Why is it so common in China then, boomer? Even niggers in Africa can do it too. It'll just come without the millions of security updates. Plus Microsoft doesn't have support 7/XP no more.
 
Decompiler on PC + 7/XP Ultimate windisk. That's it. Maybe later versions might be harder, but the only reason that is is because they got tired of their software getting pirated from XP/7 due to weaker digital rights management (DRM), less frequent online verification and a less sophisticated activation system (and because it's free even if hidden). And those happen to be the best two versions anyways.

dont start me................a friend went to vietnam last year and found street vendors everywhere selling DVDs of cracked Windows 10 for like $2 apiece. Piracy of this shit is everywhere, but it is always older versions, usually missing a lot of features. also the crackers don't bother to decompile the whole thing and "improve" it, all they really care about is cracking the registration system so they can sell it, ya little whippersnapper

thats even funnier--one of the first things Microshit did on Win 8 was to change the code so it could run on ARM processors and cheap embedded processors.
the 2003 code is only partly compatible with later versions, so old that a major Windows fork was based on it, and Microshit said nothing SUPPOSEDLY
