God killed the dinosaurs off because they were not evolving fast enough. Clearly God wanted to create mankind but he tried using the dinosaurs but they couldn't evolve into sapient beings after over 250 million years. Even God can lose His patience. So he threw the asteroid 65 million years ago just to start something new, and it finally worked out in the end.
But did it? There are many people who refuse to embrace the mercy of God. There are far too many people who do not live lives invested with the power and love of Jesus Christ.

Nephilim are never explicitly stated to be half angels/demons/whatever.
As cool as that sounds, they are only stated as being strong people, and that is it.
