you have two choices at this point: just cave in, make furry porn, then lose all self respect for the sake of big money; or actually try to be a somewhat respectable artist before you eventually cave in and make furry porn. But there's the chance that it might not come to that.

if you don't wanna lose all self respect you gotta work hard on it. make irl connections, get into the local art scene. if there's a local art program, do research. but I might be the only one here that doesn't want to be a complete hobbiest.

This is completely right btw. Have a little respect for yourself, don't take noise from beginners, and draw things you like sometimes. Anything you will be told is obvious or setting you back. Better artists don't have a crab-in-bucket mentality unless they have bad personality in real life. And you should never listen to guys with bad personality. That's just hurting yourself.
