In any case, Zandronum and GZDoom are basically the same thing, highly advanced ports with cool light effects, but GZDoom is more up-to-date and supports more mods, but its multiplayer functions are heavily underdeveloped. That's why Zandronum exists and comes with "Doomseeker" for server search.
If you go to 4chin or Doomworld you will have puristfags tell you that hurr durr it plays differently from OG Doom because it doesn't have infinite height monsters / objects, no replay functionality and the damage RNG is calculated differently, boohoo. Fuck those guys. They love to use stuff like Crispy Doom / PRBoom+ / Chocolate Doom, which are all ports that can't use zDoom features.
If you want to play Doom singleplayer with a cool twist, get GZDoom + Corruption Cards mod.
I played that once, didn't get it.
