Hair metal music recommendations.

So, I'm growing my hair out and it goes down to my the bottom of my neck. It's really curly and shaggy. Not a single straight line on my head. I'm thinking about going for a 80's hair metal look since that kinda looks cool and a friend told me to stylize it.

Got any band and album recommendations so I can like, have this look without being a poser or whatever?

If you have to, Guns N Roses is probably the only choice.

Or go ironic hair metal look and just get really into Horse The Band.

I thought Guns N Roses is hard rock. I'll check out Horse The Band cuz chiptune is cool.

They were more glam rock/ metal but it was the same scene I guess so they're considered hair metal.

Pantera and Alice In Chains also started as hair metal but no one knows any songs from those eras lol

Dio sans Sabbath is pure power metal but it's fun n better than GnR.
You could try the Scorpions or Def Leppard if you really wanna torture yourself.
Cinderella was.... meh. Dee Synder does a syndicated rock show on FM (@Baka listens in PA and I get it in TX) called the House of Hair. He plays a mix of 70s, 80s n early 90s hair metal, check that if you wann explore the wonderful world of buttrock

We dont talk about Hair metal Pantera. That was a dark time.

check out Warrant, my fave band of all time. idc what anyone says.
queensryche and slaughter are good too. quiet riot had a few good ones

I'd honestly say what radha suggested is best and to just listen to house of hair and discover what you like randomly. which is always the best way to do things

listen on an actual radio for the authentic experience

Lol Warrant n Rat still tour too, which I'm amazed about, but they have a very dedicated following of bike grandmoms who have no qualms about wearing a leather tube top in their 60s. Go for it ladies.

If you really wanna dive deep into the hair metal world and don't want to get hepatitis from Tommy Lee (that fucker still tours n put out a movie like 2 years ago) try the movie "Heavy Metal." The original, not the 2000 one.

Its what one of the best episodes of South Park is based on. And it's awful yet awesome.

It sounds like you want to look like a metal head. Which is literally the definition of poser. Face it, you will never not look like a poser. The only way to overcome this visual hindrance is to actually know metal in all forms and styles. So either start liking metal a lot -- eat, breathe and shit metal, or start buying up limited import pressings of OMD, Laurie Anderson and YYZ -- fag.

However this is an absolute pillar of what heavy metal was built on.
Fuck you "doom metal" lovin' no talent faggots.

No, I just want to style my hair in a certain way. I'll obviously look like a poser if I don glam metal hair without listening to the music, just like every kid who wears and dyes their hair black but has never heard of Bauhaus before.

Again you are focused on look. And again as a homosexual that is what you focus on. That is literally being a poser. Being a poser is not bad persay, just don't label yourself as a hardcore metal head and you'll be ok.

I'm not a hardcore metal head. I like metal. I know a lot but not everything.

Negative bonus: homosexuality. If metal is your thing there are homo metal bands like Judas Priss *ehm* Priest.
