Has gaming gotten worse or better over the years?

nah it's always been shit with few exceptions

Thank you Illuminati for that interesting thread topic. I tend to agree with your thinking on this issue. Almost all modern games are broken when they’re released. And then people wait for a flurry of patches to fix the games.

Who is most at fault? The consumers. If they weren’t willing to buy half-finished games, the game studios wouldn’t produce so much garbage.

I'll be the better man here and compliment the video game designers with a few exceptions.

Not enough flight simulators. Not enough split screen action now that we have very large screens to play it on.

Not enough needing to be able to connect to the servers for "random matchmaking".

Not enough old school Rainbow 6 that I really liked like the Vegas one. That one rocked.

Not enough Big Game Hunting games.

Boo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems nowadays I'd rather play something made at least 20 years ago than the recent garbage made it the last 5 years.

Anyone else feel that modern gaming has gone way downhill since the late 2010s?
this is why I pretty much play tabletop games these days. If there's a remaster of a really classic game and it's in great shape, chances are I'll get to it (like Warcraft 3). But yeah, most games these days focus on fast and easy rewards with little or no regards to the reward of scaling and it just becomes a mashing all the buttons fest. The last recent really challenging game I think I played was Dark Souls.
