So I've watched all of Watamote. Most of it seems like it's trying to be funny. It feels like a poor representation of what loneliness is. Not everyone wants to be popular; they just want loyal friends. Tomoko is just an icon of just insufferable people. All the Watamote fans I've met aren't even lonely; they have plenty of friends. They just want to be a loser because Watamote romanticizes loneliness rather than show it's mental effects. I hate the “I'm such a loser” then they show the most normal shit ever they lack any personality and just like whatever is popular on TikTok and says “I love bedrotting”. Loneliness is anything that should be romanticized, it's a horrible thing that causes many people to kill themselves. Every Watamote fans are all exact replicas of one another. I don't hate Watamote I don't really have much of an opinion on it, but it does annoy me with the romanticization of depression and loneliness.
