LeBron James, after saying he seriously considered retirement, is signing with the
Philadelphia 76ers for his final run at another NBA championship, he announced Friday.
James, 41, is signing a two-year, $8 million contract with a player option, Klutch Sports Group CEO Rich Paul told ESPN's Shams Charania. James made nearly $53 million with the
Los Angeles Lakers last season.
In a series of posts on X, James addressed his decision-making, writing that he initially thought he was
done playing after the 2025-26 season before taking time to decide on his future.
"I was honest at that last press conference when I said I needed to look at myself and decide if I still love this game," he wrote.
