maritime shenanigans thread

Finding videos about the Admiral Kuznetsov where the narrator isn't either constantly scoffing or outright laughing at it is harder than I'd have thought.
Anyway, this is the Russian navy penis extension, and it literally spends more time in dry dock than in active service.
At any one time there are about one working toilet per 120 men aboard, the climate control system rarely works, it runs on the garbage left behind after asphalt production and uses boilers that went out of fashion with Western navies after the second World War.
Operationally it is slightly less successful than the carrier Minsk, which itself got sold for scrap three decades ago and was turned into a Chinese theme park.
The Admiral Kuznetsov is entirely dependent on a small fleet of tugboats as either the boilers or engines constantly break down leaving this piece of shit drifting helplessly. For some unfathomable reason the russkies also did not make provisions for it to be able to receive shore power or heated water, so it has to run half of its boilers even when undergoing maintenance to provide heating and electricity aboard for its unfortunate crewmen.

which was gutted by fire last month
most media outside of china and russia barely, or didn't, mention it

this is part of why the ukraine war is such a joke
the russian navy is barely able to function today thanks to corruption, their army and air force are reduced to operating obsolete equipment
most of their 12 missile submarines are usually down for repairs

meanwhile putin's propaganda machine keeps cranking out the most pathetic lies

i've been reading about the victual brothers recently, they started as your usual mercenary company, then had a robin hood phase of stealing from the rich and giving to the poor (hence victual in their name) until falling to inevitable fate of becoming regular pirates. love me some Hanseatic Baltic shenanigans

I hate it that the music had to be removed in the one spot because of copywrite whatever. Someone get me the version that has the correct music in that section.
