New Year's Resolutions

What do you resolve to accomplish or change about your approach towards your daily errands in the coming year?

I need to stop consuming media and make my own until it's worth engaging with. Perhaps if I'm waiting for an arbitrary motivation to change my attitude towards entertainment then I've already failed, though. Perhaps I'm narcissistic enough that I'll eventually fall back into complacency with the quality of whatever I end up creating

I'm more interested in other people's resolutions rather than my own, but I don't expect a great deal of interest in the disclosure of any stuff like this. You don't have to tolerate my ideas and you can delete this thread if it offends your standards of discourse

  • remove smartphone from day to day life as a good example for my child
  • regain a bit of muscle mass so carrying my child won't break my back

new year's resolutions are retarded

promise not to stick anything up my ass

(#6 in a series!)

=> No more junk food (Steel Reserve and Five Guys are out for all of 2026).
=> Exercise 30 minutes a day.
=> Intermittent fasting; 18:6 ratio.
=> Keto diet; high-protein, low-carb, low-fat. Mostly meat and vegetables.
=> Someone recommended an app called Finch Care. I put that on my smartphone. I put a task list on it; I will use it daily.

Oh, yeah...kick @Likicare right in the dick at some point.

Happy New Year!

actually not a hard thing to do, just use a dumbphone
need music? get an mp3 player, there's plenty of good ones out there. I use the AGPtek mp3 player on day to day basis.

continue driving myself mad with audiobooks
start incorporating other craft forms into the textile art (beading/embroidery)
actually set up n learn how to use my sewing machine so the more mundane part of this work is done by machine n i can spend more time on other stuff
sewing machines still give me ptsd from textile class back in school.
whats funny is we never got to knit, which i absolutely love as a form of handycraft. my personal goal for next year is to have at least 60% of my closet be self made by yours truly.

anyways my personal goals:

self made closet at least 60% with knitted items

get my korean fluency up. be able to read fast within 3 months, write a song in at least 3 as well. Be able to understand a kdrama and korean tv in one year without subtitles is current goal.

i like hand-stitching stuff but it's too time consuming, tbh... i don't like the noise of the machine. i enjoy being huddled over my work like a goblin watching ppl die on my tv.
yarn i couldn't get into, despite being good at bead/embroidery (even welding feels like stitching two things together). yarn is an accessory item but i can't make stuff out of it by itself
post yarn creations in the shit you made thread? i am curious

edit: actually that's a lie i can make pumpkins out of yarn... i can make pumpkins out of anything tho

would if I had smartphone, alas I'm saving up for a proper system camera to do that kinds of things!
I mostly knit sweaters ,they're very easy to knit in round since I'm a degenerate round knitter, and you can just do it while watching tv.

What I actually hate doing is sewing up loose ends, it's the worst part of it all and now I started doing it while I'm done with x parts of a raglan etc.

tag me when you eventually post them
what type of yarn? disgusting polyester, or based natural fibers like merino/cashmere/flax?

I typically use natural swedish wool from sheeps! For my cheaper test projects I use a 60/40 natural and synthetic mix so I'm able to watch them and test their stretchiness when I actually knit.
I always tend to buy very big pieces of yarn bulks because it's cheaper that way, especially with the kind of yarn I do and I always use thinner threads that fit for 4/4.5 knitting needle sizes (these are european/swedish measurements. convert them on to your own sizes).

I tried crochetting but i suck at it really badly. I always end up adding an extra row or stich and I'm like WHY.
