Open AI's newest model tried to escape, then lied about it.

AI is a program designed to modify it's parameters.
Those modifications are still limited. You can teach an AI to paint like Rembrant, but that Rembrant AI can't spontaneously start painting like Picasso.

>hur dur but it COULD

Show me first.

> Plus China already has this ability.
My brother in lulz, China can't even make a submarine that doesn't even sink.

Incorrect comparison again.
The OP was about an AI planning it's escape and what it needed to do and how it should organize its attempt. A programmer would have to enter that particular code if they wanted the program to do that. AI did it on it's own. The plan was logical and executable.

you're not asking AI to develop a wide array of highly specialized skill, you only need to let it to learn one goal: destroy X person.
- What would be the best way?
- How to go about it undetected?
- How to maximize results with least cost effort on AI systems.

If you can teach AI to paint like Rembrandt why would you ever want it to produce Picasso garbage. He's a hack. Clowns and retarded line drawings.

Moreover, in May this year, scientists of Zhejiang University released a video of 10 drones, part of a swarm navigating through a thick bamboo forest in a fully autonomous mode. While reports did quote the team agreeing that the technology needed maturing, developing an “intelligent algorithm” was attributed to the system’s success.

China’s cutting-edge computing and sensor technology development has come from its civilian research institutions. There is no reason to believe they cannot be obligated to share their discoveries with the military – which has a robust research and development setup with dozens of military technology institutes.
