Over the last few weeks we have been targeted by fail raids to our network, and when that didn't work, attacks on our registrar.

We dealt with these issues. But I used the downtime to do some house cleaning.

We had 32GB of unused (orphaned) images in the wiki. Some were just redundant, example: your mom.jpg vs your_mom.jpg.

I deleted those. Before doing so, I made a backup, but uploading to internet archive is hard when the archive is 130+GB and any network disruptions causes the upload to fail.

I appreciate any suggestions to get this large file on the net.

FYI - we usually do backups Sunday nights, around 10pm EST, every week

The process takes about half an hour, so you can expect some connection issues during that time.

I am aware of the email notification issue. I will try to debug that this weekend....

Are there any other tech monkeys here besides you who can get this solved?

@Tabs Might work on it if he ever logs in.

Thank you for making a backup so we dont have to start from 2017 again. That happened a bunch of times.

Try making a torrent of the ED wiki if you dont give a fuck about who has your backup. Also you could do a winrar and zip and upload it to Mega.com or a file sharing site like that but it would probaly have the same network disconnection issues. I use to know more about computers when I was in high school i would hack into porn sites with shitty security but im rusty as a nail with tech now that I got old.

IA is slower than molasses. However, they'd probably be the only ones who'd take it.
However, it's torrents or multipart.

I forgot what it's called, but there is a way to run comparisons on the original stuff, and make new archives that only store the changes and you can extract the version you want as long as you have the base. Basically what virtual machines use with snapshots.
