i decided to order some more yellow so i'm waiting on some honey calcite, yellow apatite, and pale yellow zircon to work on the other part

the yellow arrived

and i found a yellow sapphire bead and what i think is a piece of libyan desert glass?
i have enough to work with n bling out a small crown tho, for sure
the hood n sleeves are also done

i then made little butterfly n moth accessories

tried to make a clay crown but it was retarded n came apart in the oven so i beaded one it's p cool

i was tired n wrong
after getting some sleep n not hovering hunched over bead stash i looked at it again n it was begging for blue topaz n opal n such
i picked 2 flashy ones to use as accent beads

n then after i got the first strand done n tried to loop the second through the opal accent bead, tragedy struck

see it woulda looked like this but with the middle yellow bead at the bottom where the opal is, and the opal would've been where the yellow one is... if the opal hadn't broken

when it broke it left slack in the middle of the bead strand and i had to cut off the whole fucking strand, then finish the one with garnets, work the thread back to the blue topaz strand and re-string the whole thing

that was the end of the complications tho
the crown looks nice on him but nothing a little re-situating wouldn't fix

the crown is appropriately gemmy too... all the tubey beads are just colored glass but the skull is carved freshwater pearl, the yellow on top is sapphire, the bridging gradient beads are grandidierite, the points on top are herkimer diamond (which is a lie it's a type of quartz but it's from new york), the yellow smol beads and the round are from the yellow stash purchase above, the dark red's garnet, the black on the bottom is spinel, n there's blue topaz n zircon.

i WANTED to have a nice, cleaner version of this finished before today so it could sit n watch wicker man with me, but whatever. maybe may 1st i will have the design reworked enough where i'll be happy with it

put the alchemical symbol for "sun" on the back of the head. beaded in sunstone

sunstone is not only on brand for the name, but a v flashy bitch

once i get the design right in minky (a nice, cooperative fabric) i'll try making it in the silk velvet, which is shinier

i imagine it will also render a cleaner face because there's no hair like on the minky
regardless of whether he turns out as pretty as i'd like, when i have time this weekend he's getting a nice robe. haven't decided on color yet. maybe purple or green
