Sony shot itself in the foot with their latest “announcement”

So Sony recently announced that they will discontinue physical games in 2028 because of “market trends” thinking digital is the future. Thing is, they have been chasing that live service train and it has been swing and miss with them with flops like Concord and Marathon. Also, it thinks it can get the consumer’s money for digital games and when they are done with certain games, they will delete those games and take the buyer’s money due to their TOS. It is if they want the players to pirate their games. And on social networks like X/twitter, instagram, and facebook other companies are roasting Sony for their decisions. Could this end Sony Computer Entertainment?

Lots of Xbox owners purchase digital games only. Microsoft doesn’t sell packaged software anymore. And Apple, the world‘s greatest company, is a pure digital play other than their hardware.
