CSIS has come under attack on a number of occasions for what is seen by some as very aggressive tactics. A vociferous critic of the Service, Lawyer Faisal Kutty, writes as follows: "Showing up at homes and workplaces unannounced; speaking with employers; offering money and favors for "information"; intimidating and threatening newcomers; questioning about specific institutions and individuals; inquiring about a person's religiosity; and discouraging people from engaging lawyers are some of the recurring themes that I have come across from clients. The problem is so severe that the Council on American Islamic Relations (Canada) has distributed almost 30,000 Know Your Rights guides and organized 27 workshops across the country on dealing with the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)."[38]

As part of an omnibus national security bill passed by Parliament in 2019, the oversight and reporting regime for CSIS was overhauled.[27] The previous agency that handled all oversight of CSIS, the Security Intelligence Review Committee (SIRC) was replaced by a new agency, the National Security & Intelligence Review Agency (NSIRA), which now includes oversight of all national security and intelligence activities undertaken by any agency of the Government of Canada.

The reforms also include the creation of a new Intelligence Commissioner who reports to Parliament and has quasi-judicial oversight of all national security matters.[28]

Yeah. For the average Canadian Citizen you dont want to have anything to do with CSIS. The RCMP police some jurisdictions in place of provincial or City police , like most of the province of Nova Scotia. Any Jail sentence longer then 2 years in Canada will land you in federal prison, which is different then the states.

Macleans also published an article saying that the Nova Scotia shooter was a CI (Confidential Informant) for the RCMP.

However I really doubt Squidge has been targeted by them, he most likely has drug induced psychosis.

Well, sleep deprivation insanity is sleep deprivation insanity. It seems to be a little worse with meth than with cocaine, but when you're weeks into it it's apples and apples, not oranges. So i had been smoking an eight ball of coke every night for months, and I knew there were people hanging out on top of the trees about 90-100 feet from mah bedroom window, and on one early morning bright, I decided to do something about it, so at 6:45 am I went out there with a small mitrebox saw, climbed up this 80 ft tall tree and topped the fucker so the shadow people would be deprived of their observation point/crow's nest. My Jehovah's Witness neighbor called a sheriff(i think they were friends) and they watched me for a while. They knew I must be high as fuck, but they didn't say or do a damn thing. Afterwards, I still thought I saw the people in the tree in full camo gear with MP-4s... there were woodpecker holes all over the tree and I thought that was evidence of those spikey pitons loggers use to climb trees............. drugz R bad, kids

Mental health programs like that in general are just the ultimate example of "You can bring a horse to water but you can't make it drink".
Yeah but it shouldnt be that way.
Mentally ill ppl exhibit risk taking behaviors.
Big part of that is drug use.
The current system sucks cuz what we do is clear them medically (basically sober them up enough that they wont kill themselves or anyone else) then try to find them placement in a voluntary program in pt.

But now theyre not so crazy. And they probably dont have insurance. So no one will take them in pt, where they could get structure, case management, scheduled therapy and a treatment regieme tailored to their situation. And alot of them agree to go in pt if we can find somewhere thatll take them.

Buuuut nada.
So instead a nice lady or gentleman comes in and gives them a list of shrinks they cant afford, in locations they probably cant get to. They leave with every intention of following up, and some do. But then shit happens, meds theyre prescribed run out or dont work or make things worse (certain reuptake inhibitors can actually cause psychosis) and theyre back on the Methamphetamine/cocaine/crack/booze/heroin express.
