The only real advantage China has is people.

This is true, but as we are seeing in Ukraine, artillery is the solution for that, and has been since it's been since introduced to the battlefield.

A soldier pressed into service, and that has no willingness to fight is a detriment to combat effectiveness. It's like the butthurt star sportsball player that found out he's not the highest paid in the league and his butthurt ego affects his game. He's a drag to the team, or in the military, we call them sandbags. Dead weight.

China's military is just that. The only ones that are motivated to any degree are the "special forces" of the CCP military. Much like the Best Korean military. Are they good? compared to what, us? Eh, not bad. but they are not even close to Tier Alpha groups. DEVGRU, Group, MARSOC, PJ's etc., I would put them on par with western regular troops. They just don't have the training or the resources to develop their personnel the way we do. They are dedicated because they really have no other choice. They are smart enough to know that if they fail, it's better to fail in the field than return and answer for their failure.
