Today marks one week since ED got ED again. lulz. Anyone got a link to the discord?

I dunno. I dont see the discord on my discord thing anymore. Either that means i got kicked or it got banned.

The owner of the discord getting banned, ED going down for a week now, and the discord possibly getting banned are some pretty big loses for ED.

More importantly, any update on the wiki? A whole ass week is a long time.

We dont have a discord anymore
@CLU RIGHT?
I'm restricted.

But I have a dummy account called SpyCrab on there.

I'll be out of country soon until November with limited internet access.

BTW, I was able to move the wiki into BookStack with Great Success. It actually looks decent, better than wiki.js and uses 1/12th of the database space:

Photos have to be fixed, and obviously templates are broke.

I have it working on local host but importing this to the dollar-saver hosting I'm using for the forums is a pain in the ass.

When I come back I will work on it some more, or go back to the original wiki or give it to someone else.

I mean if it works and the layout can be customized, then maaaaybe....

But looking into it some more and it looks like Bookstack has a very rigid "Shelf > Book > Chapter > Page" format.

Also templates aren't complex (no logic or macros), but if ED templates are all just "mini pages" then maybe there's no loss EDIT: actually if we can't pass arguments into Bookstack templates (eg {{1}}|{{2}} ) then it might not work.

And as long as crosslinking still works, like [[Faggot|respectable gentleman]] then we can give it a go? I'm just mostly concerned about the rigid format, but it's worth a test.

Looking into DokuWiki, it's not built for something as large as ED.

We may be stuck with MediaWiki, at least if we want to keep ED in the form it's been known for.

If it's just a matter of hosting costs, that'll undoubtedly cost less man hours than trying to square this circle.

It's because we did that article on Charlie Kirk. I knew it favored the right a little bit. The liberal machine shut us down.

I agree, I looked at Doku wiki and came to the same conclusion.

Our options is to continue to use mediawiki or;

Use bookstack with custom coding.

I did try to organize the books -> chapters and -> pages. Right now Categories are "Books" but I wanted them as chapters with a book by alphabetical volume.

This was a disaster when trying to sort and I ended up restoring the old databse and pulled the plug.

Passing arguments should not be an issue, neither converting youtube links which used mediawiki embed to use instead of bookstack's WYSIWYG editor.

Anycase, I am leaning towards just giving someone else the wiki. It is getting quite big though. The database is 12GB, 9GB compressed. Images are about 150GB.

You lost, baby boy.

I don't mind helping but I dunno if I can take it over outright. Like, would you still be managing the hosting and whoever takes over the wiki just focuses on making sure it remains working (squashing bugs, etc)?
