The average age of a first time US house buyer is now 40. First time. We're talking about starter homes that were 75K in the 80's and 200K as recently as 2015, those same houses are 475K. The 20% down payment would be 95K.
Since you are a woman and not good at math let me break that down for you.
At 40K you're taking home 32K that's just FIC, not including state, local, sales, car registration, medical, life insurance, etc.
But for shits and giggles that's your take home pay.
That's 2451.64 every four weeks.
Let's say you can save 241.64 every four weeks. That's $11,742.64 a year. It will take you just over 8 years to save for the down payment. You're 25 now and you live in a moderately economically depressed area so house prices are about half that. Don't count on that, with the flood of indians, muslims and the illegals that are "fighting" to stay here.
Your only hope is your mom doesn't reverse mortgage the house and doesn't completely render the house unlivable due to her 4 pack a day habit.
