War has been declared...

sadly iran would have no chance because of the us

It was a couple days ago, but the U.S. Dept. of Defense said:
The United States is alarmed by reports of large scale military action along the Line of Contact in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone that has resulted in significant casualties, including civilians. We extend our condolences to the families of those killed and injured.

The United States condemns in the strongest terms this escalation of violence.  Deputy Secretary Biegun called the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Foreign Minister of Armenia, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, to urge both sides to cease hostilities immediately, to use the existing direct communication links between them to avoid further escalation, and to avoid unhelpful rhetoric and actions that further raise tensions on the ground.

The United States believes participation in the escalating violence by external parties would be deeply unhelpful and only exacerbate regional tensions. We urge the sides to work with the Minsk Group Co-Chairs to return to substantive negotiations as soon as possible. As a Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, the United States remains committed to helping the sides achieve a peaceful and sustainable settlement to the conflict.

So basically, "Smoke 'em if you got 'em"

If youre going to get upset every time you're wrong or get called out for a bad opinion maybe you shouldn't post here
Again you clearly don't understand the purpose of the infantry. Your debate stems is the exact same stance which blossoms everytime a new piece of hardware is introduced and is effective, ______ will make the infantry obsolete. Blah blah blah. They said it with tanks, with airplanes, with drones. No. Not until there is a direct replacement for infantry (robot infantry) there will always be an infantry.

Because, infantry is cheap and can go anywhere. You cannot hold ground with drone strikes. You cannot hold ground with arty barrages, you cannot hold ground with tanks without infantry support.

It's clear you're the one that's projecting in this case.

Im amazed how western media is either completely ignoring this or vaguely in passing refer to it as "border clashes"

Its been going for 4 days and casualties are already in their thousands
Who cares about some 3rd countries though?

its pretty easy for us westerners to think about this type of thing as some kind of entertainment, especially considering the country i live in. do you guys actually get concerned about all this stuff
I used to be concerned, protest the war, think there was a better way, and be of the opinion that these localized proxy conflicts were just ways for the military-industrial complex to continue to make money during times of relative peace... now I am concerned for people your age because if the world completely descends into war, you are not going to have the advantages I had to simply live in peace, and thats sad, I guess, unless you are a true warrior, WANT to fight for its own sake, and seek Valhalla.
(72 virgins would be nice, but i think thats probly in goats)

@Maysam lesser extent obviously in this case but when there is euro shit going on do you get worried at all
I'm only worried about the Ivan coming but I can't see that being something Putin would want. Just lots of destruction and not much to gain. Or do you know a better example/threat?

Protesting wars is about the dumbest thing anyone can do: the invaders don't give a shit, and the defenders aren't going to want to capitulate (exception France).

I see smaller military engagements such as the Gulf War I, or the Six days wars more of a showcase for the MIC.
